Einstein And Gandhi Poem by Samanyan Lakshminarayanan

Einstein And Gandhi

Rating: 5.0

EINSTEIN AND GANDHI

What Einstein could not do-
Gandhi would have definitely done.
The blunder Einstein did-
Gandhi would have never done.

Einstein was 'Science' personified.
Gandhi was 'Religion' personified.

What Einstein had to say- about religion and god,
in a letter fifty years back-
'There is'nt any god,
The jews are not extraordinary people,
The stories in the bible are most childish-
On the whole religion is mans weakness'
this is what Einstein had to say.

What gandhi had to say about science and technology-
'The railways and mail are very useful services to mankind-
no doubt but i would be very happy to see these developments-
die on their own'
this is what gandhi had to say.

What did Einstein do- that
Gandhi would have never done?
Einstein gave in to the pressure of-
The then U.S government.
Einstein gave away all his findings on atom-
to the government- knowing well-
it will be misused.
Gandhi would have never done that.
Gandhi would have resisted- withstood all pressures-
Without fear.
Gandhi's religion would have given him that strength.
Gandhi's religion has never been his 'weakness'.
Gandhi's religion 'was' a nations strength then.

Einstein who initially called Gandhi a 'Fake'- later
when Gandhi died said-
'The future generation would find it difficult to believe-
that such a man in flesh and blood lived in the universe'- about GANDHI.

The growth of the Einstein aspect-
without the Gandhian aspect-
has shown us-
'The dance of Fear to the music of Fear'
The combination of these aspects- should have been-
The very first of our prospect- to really grow.

I enjoyed this comparison of the two great men, one noted for his spiritual beliefs and other a man of science. What however they both were, was great philosophers. The world would be a better place if it followed their joint message on how we can lead a happy lasting life, and at the same time, improve our world tremendously. Bob
