Elegy For My Soul Poem by Vignesh Ravishankar Shanmugam

Elegy For My Soul

Rating: 4.8

Deep down me,
Recedes a voice,
Gone with it's poise,
An echo of a knight,
A relentless warrior,
Fought peacfully on his will's behalf,
Thought gregariously to mend the world,
Feigned by the beauty,
Torn by the harsh reality,
Lost his eccentricity.

Oh! there recedes the voice,
Voice of the dumb,
Left with it's flesh and bone,
Borne to mourn,
Tears alone to drown the soul,
Receded the voice,
Dumped me heartless, painless,
To face the crooked world.

Like putting a string around your finger, as a reminder for something. Though not the harsh realities of life.

A melancholy of words. A kind of jittering of the troubled mind. A nice piece.

Although I can appreciate the sentiment, and agony, depicted in your very stirring words, I found a rough and jagged read, that deserved a much smoother flow. great expression and imagery. it is a good piece.

The ruthless world drowns all hopes....thus kills the inner warrior, defeats our will and leaves us in an ocean of disppointment! ! ! A thoughtful write...thanks for sharing!

This is a deep and very introspective poem. 'Fought peacefully on his will's behalf' is an outstanding line, Well done. Jim
