Ego, the enemy that lies within,
A foe we battle day and night,
It whispers pride and feeds on sin,
Leading us away from what is right.
But we can manage this beast inside,
And choose the path of humility,
For prideful ways we must deride,
And embrace the grace of humanity.
To listen and learn is a vital art,
For the ego loves to speak and boast,
But to become a student with a humble heart,
Is to gain the wisdom that matters most.
Helping others is the way to greatness,
As ego focuses only on the self,
Take the low position without restlessness,
And place the needs of others on the shelf.
Success and failure, both are friends,
Ego sways us from our ultimate goal,
Don't let it break you, but make amends,
And use the lessons to make you whole.
Ego is the wicked sister of success and failure,
But with humility, we can tame this wild creature.
