Essence - Poem by hell fire
Weaving though dancing long grass
and abandoned fields of sugarcane
Cooling breeze on sunset wings floats by
whimsical orange blossoms, eagerly
hugging a shape on muddled view
The soft, careless whisper of your name
Your fragile, angelic sculptured frame
became the heart song, pounded on ancient drum
I remember, yes, now I remember …..
You are no stranger or figment imagined
But the unsung hero of my victories claimed
My soothing inner voice in times of shame
Your strength, your courage in quietude,
taken for granted too often, eagerly imbued
Unworthy, a love’s promise underserved.
Your spirit reflected in mother earth……
