Even In Death Poem by Brooklyn Sorrow

Even In Death

Rating: 5.0

He's gone.
That's what they say.

I laugh.
I know you're here.
I see you.

You cast shadows.
I feel your presence.

They say I'm crazy.
They say I need help.

I don't need help.
I'm not crazy.
I see you.
I know you're here with me.

They take me by the hand and guide me to a dark place.
They show me a gray stone.
I cannot belive what they've shown.

Why didn't you tell me?
Why didn't you say good-bye?

I loved you.

I run.
I cry.
Your loss,
Is my loss.

Death.
Even in death.

Stay forever.
Eternal.
Even in death our love goes on.

Hi Brooklyn - This is a very moving poem in which you share the grief of your loss but also your assurance that love is eternal. It is well structured and easy to read and is a good example of flowing 'free verse'. Because of all these aspects I score it full marks TEN. I can empathise because two of my Brothers and my Mum & Dad have all gone to Heaven this makes me sad but I have faith that one day we will all meet up again. The opening thirteen lines indicate that even though your loved one has passed away you feel their presence 'I know you're here' 'I feel your presence' 'I see you - I know you're here with me'. They show you the grave the stone - you are devastated. Then the cri de coeur 'Why didn't you say good-bye? ' 'I loved you'. There is real anguish real pain in these words - and rightly so. You cry for what you have lost. At the end of the poem you bring us back to your feeling of the resence of your loved one. 'Stay forever Eternal - Even in death our love goes on - PERFECT. Love you in Poetry - JOHN.
