Evert Poem by Sylvia Frances Chan

walking man killed by falling tree, many cars collide,
through the super powerful showers,
till what date will Evert stay?

they all greet you
on arrival
in the garden,

today they are the friendliest
if that is possible,

they force each other to greet me,
the thin branches bow to me,
they are so courteous,
but far frommellifleous

the green leaves rustle quickly,
the flutter-flitter melody,

then the bigger sounds start to show,

I'm not going to reward them,

their sound begins to resemble taunts,

I will not show myself on the street for too long.
curfew begins soon being heard,

then you might have a mega spectacle
whirlwind original,
huge drummers sound,
but they are not a jewel
all tools on their own level

That evening was all
about Evert through the radio news:
Evert is striking everywhere, code yellow,

walking man killed by falling tree,
many cars collide,
through the super powerful showers,
till what date will Evert stay?
