Every Time - Poem by Urshula Davis

Every time
I fix my mouth of love
I think of you
the past and future tense of you
you present, I wipe my hands with conversation of it
I can't stomach it
It's not euphemistic
not the type of thing you disgust over dinner
Cus then I'll just fill my plate back up
with consumption
with CONSUMPTION

Poet's Notes about The Poem

This explains the person I used to love and the person they could have grown into and me also loving them. And the thought of them today not only grosses me out but overwhelms me.This poem helps me overcome unwanted baggage along with emotions.
