EVERYDAY POEM-27 Destiny
Sometimes I think
Destiny plays the trick.
By some unknown error
The whole conversation
was erased from my mails
What happened to my computer
I do not know
I am trying to remember
What ensued what
I can faintly recall the fragments
Recall some humorous moments
But I have lost the addresses of many friends
One friend had asked me
If ever I lost track of him
I may search him along the French Broad River
He might have walked up in the jungle
My mind has become a cobweb of thoughts
And it is not easy to find the right solution.
Digital relationships are at the mercy of the aaps. One click and everything is erased. Difficult to keep pace with the time. Beautiful poem
An intriguing poem that captures the experience of information lost and the search to recover it.
An unfortunate occurrence that creates confusion and frustration. This happened to me earlier and it is hard to retrieve those affected data. An spontaneous write.
2) cont'd: Not only did I lose the addresses of friends and other contacts, but I also lost a ton of my poetry, including prospective books. Back-up files were also compromised.
The confusion and frustration of losing such important data is so very well captured in your well-written poem, Bharati. I can totally empathize with you.
What a tragic loss indeed! There is nothing quite like friendship, even if it is only via digital communications! Perhaps someday you will find those addresses again!
And so life will one day become a dream or a mirage, and this is the beauty of poetry: it is composed of all the details of life, giving feelings a measure of importance so that people listen to it wherever they read it, and it will not be thrown into oblivion.
