Expecting The Rain Poem by Dorsey Baker

Expecting The Rain

Rating: 5.0

Chaos is the new normal
Murder and mayhem
Human beings
So full of tension
Apprehension
Devastation
On the rampage
Bloodbaths in the street
Violent heart attacks of rage
The living dead
Trying so hard
To escape the prison of death

So dark the skies
So much cloudiness!
Above us
Expecting rain
But never knowing
Just how soon it will come!

The metaphor of rain as a blessing has always been my favourite. Well penned!

let the rain come to wash away the garbage of the chaotic mind; nice to read your poetic theme
