Facing The Truth Poem by Sandra Feldman

Facing The Truth

Rating: 5.0

Finding ways
To deny and escape
The true reality,
Our own weak
And distrustful
Personalities,
Not easy,

Who to blame
For the disintegration,
Of the society
We live in?
Not easy!

In thousands of years,
Neither politics
Nor religion have
Made us better
We remain
As shameful as ever
Crawling in our own
Man Made Mud,
A disgrace to ourselves
And to the society
We live in,
A being no better
Than what the Bible
Told us, once he was.

We are what we are
Not what we are supposed
To be,
Seems that having a brain
And some feelings,
A heart,
Has not been enough
To change, Humanity's
Sad and bellicose, History.

Pity!

Dear Poetess, i fully understand the truth of this poem. And you are absolutely right! Even though, God has endowed us with a brain to reason out and a heart to empathy, yet, are we using these faculties? Well, not at all! History, in itself, is an evidence. A poem that can set us thinking.......10

A powerful and incisive write. An astute observation of what is happening to humanity and society as a whole. I join the great Poetess in her very deep and profound emotions woven in this heartfelt write.
