Fear Psychosis Poem by Valsa George

Fear Psychosis

Rating: 4.8

he panted heavily
muscles twitching in his naked body
running frenzied, without looking back,
he shouted, "He is after me.... my life"
a rip roaring cry....!

the traffic halted
pedestrians stopped
people from shops came out
women through curtained windows peeped
children stopped their play

"so drunk".... a man murmured
"A crack".... someone shouted
"coming right after an orgy"
sneered, an oldie...
"pity on him...! Take him to an asylum"
one gentleman suggested.
he needs help, majority opined
‘nab this plague', the moral police quipped

what is he running from...?

an Assailant....?
corona virus....?
his own phantom...?
two sane men staying,
at a corner wondered.
they had masks on their face
"must be a health worker"..!
one of them said...
"yes, the subtle nuances of an agonized mind"
the other agreed!

as the scene on the road,
had grown into a high voltage drama,
dissensions grew and multiplied!

Just an ordinary streaker, like many many in the UK, I had seen them one by one they love to be seen and I dislike that. Such exhibisionists! As long as I have been residing in the NL, I saw ZERO streaker. Dear poetess, you got an excellent poem. True fascinating. My two thumbs up! A 10++ Full Score.

He is not an ordinary streaker, Sylvia. He is having neurotic problems under severe stress and fear. Many doctors and health workers are under extreme stress these days. We have to pity this man. He needs sympathy...! Thanks for the high rating of the poem!

Many incidents of streaking were reported in the state during a decade between 1960 and 1970. It was a challenge among students The streaker used to behave like a psychic. The case here may be a real psychosis. If so it is pathetic....10

Yes fear is such that hide the reality and we go out of mind. Very true words.

Madness seems to be contagious as covid, fear and uncertainty make people do insane things and then there are those on a verge of a breakdown whose actions speak of desperate fear. An extremely well crafted work Valsa, with delicate care for the subject.

Thank you so much Kevin! What you have stated in your comment is exactly the mental disposition of most of the people these days. Along with the fast spread of the pandemic, fear also is conquering more and more people and many lose their sanity of mind.

The great Poetess had created a picture and evoked great emotions and at the same time conveying a meaningful message to humanity about this abnormal thinking and perception.

Excellent write ! A one of a kind presentation of a person who is afflicted by a severe mental disorder. I loved how this poem has been crafted and portrayed. A reader is like seeing a movie. So detailed and vividly imprinted in the mind.
