Final Word Poem by Patricia Gale

Final Word

Rating: 5.0

Thou came and asked for my forgiveness
Praying I shalt here thy plea
That my ears might hear thy slithering forked tongue thy speak with
But alas I remember the garden of thorns thou left me in
The bite of love that thou placed upon me
Leaving your poison coursing through mine veins

One heart beat away from heaven’s gates
A second chance came from an angel’s voice
Thou must go on for true love comes from within
Your time is not nigh
Forgive and live but never travel down this path again

I stand before thee now a lady of strength and honor
Forgiveness thou shall receive
But this is were thine journey ends
For our paths shall cease to cross this very night
May blessings be bestowed upon thee
And may the taste of bitter sweet memories linger upon thy lips
