Flowers For Misterjaffe - Poem by Jan Houston

thaaank you
(pinkly)
for perfect poems
(head to best
pleased angle posed)
coy
closed
shy em-barr-ass-ment
(mustard) courage
stretches
happyface style smile
til
out squuu-eeezes
sweet emerges
this gl-OH-wing
smitten child

stuffed
cherub cheeks
burst into apples
g r i n n i n g
like
WHOOOOOOPEE GOLD-BERG!
(color purple)
lips
s p r e a d
w i d e
cannot suppress
my liberated teeth

i ate them
these blossoms
you bring me
with your sparkling eyes
