Why does a FOR SALE sign mean
something so final, is it because of
the emptiness that is felt when it sets
so lonely as if to signify the the contents
of its dwelling
Selling and Buying seem to have one
commodity in common, each have
dreams with each a very different paradox
Time changes, but somehow it stays the
same.....
It is hard when we have to do something so emotional and final. I hope all will go well. But the good thing is we have the memories in our minds forever.
This is a great poem Bonnie. There certainly is something final about a For Sale sign. Perhaps it's the parting with old memories that makes it so hard to let go. Love, Andrew
When the sign appears, In the neighbors, it instills fears. Fears of the unknown Will be aptly shown. Will the yard go into decline, Papers accumulating is a sure sign Or perhaps the window shades askew Signs of ownership few? Then the sign of the realtor Twisted and turned by the weather Indicating no one cares How the house fares. One day a broken window and a door ajar Somethings happening as seen from afar But no one dare close the door Or guess what's next, instore. During the dark of night, A truck arrives and before daylight Loads the appliances And is out of sight. Now parties begin after dark As 'invaders' seek a place to park A place where they can crash Dealing in pleasure for a little cash. Then a careless toke Perhaps as just a mindless joke Results in a fire Burning there. Salvation as the bulldozer appeared And before dark the lot is cleared. The end of one families dreams But the beginning of something new it seems.
