My Coke is damn lukewarm
No longer adding life
The fridge no longer cold
Broken down just like me
The music's country
So sad and lonely
Hearing is almost gone
Forgot to recharge aid
No damn good films to watch
Netflix must be on strike
Still got one or two books
Damn, can't find my glasses
A shot of bourbon would be nice
The liquor store has just now closed
The damned local watering hole
Far too depressing for this night
Well...there is always tomorrow
Forecast calls for stormy weather
Well...there is always tomorrow............yes dear poet.
Something to always look forward to! THX so much, Dillip for commenting and for adding my poem to your favourites!
A funny write about realities of life.Sometimes it feels asif every one and everything have plotted against us and determined to throw obstacles on our way.
And if we can laugh about it, then that's a bonus. And writing poetry about it is the icing on the cake! THX so much, Bharati for sharing in the laughter.
Brilliant, Richard! This reminds me of so many days now gone...and those inevitable stormy tomorrow's that followed. This verse goes to myfavourites.
