When from the window the world you watch
That, lazily, chases itself and then moves on
You tell yourself
'You're not alone.. You're not alone..'
But it's a deception
We are all alone. Always.
Even
With those impossible answers for
Which we continue to wait
A lifetime.

2 Notes: 1. – It is the world that, lazily, 'chases itself ' and then moves on .. = The speaker is at the 'window', watching the 'world' moving on lazily.. I guess anybody has experienced moments like that, when – especially awaking.. when still in drowsiness/ semi-sleep – past events parade in one’s mind, slowly, one by one.. as if we were watching them from a window.. A number of events — or even just one, showing different aspects of itself. Some events can occur more than once**, before ceding their place to others.. Like in a movie.. **From here, 'chasing itself'.
2. – About the impossibility to get those answers (about the sense of Life) : maybe some readers could think that, at the end, those answers (all or some of them) will come.. but it would be a wrong interpretation of my verse: we'll never get any of them.
We'll never know about the real nature of LIFE.. never about the Universe.. but our mind is built so as to search for such impossible answers, even if we know that we'll not get to the final truth..
Dear Fabrizio, you touched upon a very significant issue in this world. Well-done! All the best!
You manage to capture something of the eternal, of eternity. A magnificent poem.
