Freedom To Love Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Freedom To Love

Given freedom to love.
Yet some will choose taking escapades...
Creating to then debate,
How stirring up hatred...
Has for them,
A more satisfying taste.
A more meaningful way,
To express an ungratefulness.
And a lack of appreciation.
Upfront and emboldened,
To display 24/7 in someone's face.

Given freedom to love.
Is not enough for some,
To leave them pleased.
With ignorance to pick.
As their favorite choice done.
And...
Over time becomes,
Associated with being 'down to Earth'.
To treat others as if dirt.
Or worse.

Since this freedom given,
For them to love.
Is just another thing,
Given to them to freely get...
Somehow and for whatever the reason,
Is not considered a blessing.
To value its worth.
And eventually without thought,
Or consciousness.
Destroying it becomes a want to wish.

Until...
The evidence of this,
Is realized.
To validate,
How they've been taught to feel.
About themselves.
With this freedom to teach others,
Nothing more.
But less to expect from life to get!
And...
To expect this with anticipation.

"That's a bunch of B.S."

I know this.
You know this.
But observe and witness,
The many who don't.
And refuse to believe any differently.
