From The Mouth Of A Horse Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

From The Mouth Of A Horse

If people did not lie.
With a doing to choose,
More of them to do.
Not only to themselves.
But involving their friends, family members...
And their children too.
A reason to dislike someone else.
Or express animosity towards others.
Would not have anyone to prioritize,
Why they despise.
Or find it necessary to criticize.
For the purpose to spend their entire lives,
Explaining why they are shown attitude...
From the ones they have accused,
For keeping their distance and ignoring them.
But not telling the truth.
To remain portrayed as innocent victims.
For the love of the attention they get.
From who else?
Friends, family and children.
Who only know to believe,
Whatever they have been told.
Unless they too discover,
Their reason to despise another...
Left to ask themselves why.
And where they first heard,
This was a purpose to serve and kept prioritized.
For the rest of their lives.

When people find their own answers.
From the horse's mouth.
They realize to discover,
It was not the mouth of the horse...
Where lies were told to have heard come out.
