Future Poem by Della Perry

Future

Rating: 5.0

The future seemed a safe place
Safer than the present.
But then I realised that the future
Is the present to be.
When you arrive there
Next, week, next month, next year,
Nothing will change.
I will still be wishing for the future to be better than now.
Nothing changes.
Nowhere is safe.
Not the past
Not the present.
Not the future.
The world is a scary place.

cool! I LIKE IT, THE POEM, BUT NOT BO MUCH THE THRUST OF THE POEM. i hope no readers are prone to depression, because this poem could really 'bring it on'! i don't think the poem is what the author (usually) feels about life. when there is 'hope' for a better tomorrow, it just makes today seem nicer. maybe? bri ;) show me another one! p.s. Ratnakar's comment impressed me. Mohammad's sort of scares me.

Yesterday is history and tomorrow is mystery whereas today is a gift from the almighty and it is, thus, called present. One's aim must be to utilize the present optimally to improve the future.

impressive writing when you want to convey the constant living pain of human being through dead words. You said about stagnant life, motionless and dreadful world without any changes and that is why we are alone in this world which is repleted with cruelty and our solution is revolt against injustice and unsafety and yearning for an ideal world of Byzantium.
