Genetic Blueprint Poem by Paula Glynn

Genetic Blueprint

Starting in the womb
To be born all too soon
But future life decisions made
Whether self confident or afraid
Sad and sensible or loud and proud
Easily made mad or calm like a cucumber
Temperament decided before
Being born, although parents do scorn
Their child knowing they're wrong
For being too loud
Yet their parents to still be proud

Looks in adulthood decided
Chosen to be short or tall
Big boned and curvy or thin and small
Blonde, red, black or brown hair
Thin hair or even thick or frizzy hair

Skin colour decided
White, black or beige
Levels of confidence
Some humour and wit
Affected by those nine months
The womb the ultimate destiny
That we grow to live in our lifetime

Unfortunately many who are evil suffer
Although to eventually become innocent
And become treasured and important children
And after a good childhood no one evil anymore
No matter what any religion preaches

For the genetic blueprint
Individual for all
Whether male or female
The human body beautiful
And functional and clever
Healing itself when cut
And bones do grow strong
The human body designed to work

And treasured, precious
People all over the globe
To be reincarnated over and over
Life an adventure every year
For the rest of time
Whether year 2000,3000 or 4000

The mathematics of genetics
Still not fully known
But the human body does grow
Changing throughout the years
From being an unknowing baby

To childhood, then to being a problematic teenager
Onto to dramatic adulthood and to predictable middle age
Old age slowly arriving with
The movement of inevitable time

And children always born
To grow and learn
Hopefully learning in life
Their lives moulded by parents
But temperament their own
Still happy to have a cosy home
And loving their chosen name
Parents knowing the name soul deep

Parents genes determing looks
The genetic blueprint
Different for each unborn child
Genetics often on the side
Of every unborn child

Genetics a miracle
Inevitably creating person after person
People connected, people communicating
And people advancing the world forever.
