Ghana´s Fortnight Poem by Sylvia Frances Chan

Ghana´s Fortnight

Rating: 5.0

Just a 6,5 hours flight
from Amsterdam to Accra
my loveliest Ghana´s Fortnight
the Land of beautiful Fauna
Lovely Flora
and sweetest Aura
and tropical Sauna
in secluded Elmina
amongst the crazying crowd
of rotten fishes smell of ancient success
behind the dark and huge fortress
dwells a darkest trace of slaves´blackest tragedy
of Ghana´s famous ancient history
the world´s hidden slaves trading commerce
ancient times of saddest tides urge
of Guinea´s Golf of Sea
having heard and imagined
these darkest trading places
in this Elmina´s Citadel
not a place to reside, just to dwell
in this darkest Elmina´s ancient citadel....

Your most beautiful Ghana's two weeks journey to the land of the beautiful fauna pleasant flora was definitely nice and successful. Taking flight from from Amsterdam to Accra was really nice. Real stories from the Gulf of Guinea you had heard and imagined the stories. Ghana travel experience was really nice. This memorable poem is excellently penned. Your song for Ghana is really a great song of journey and emotion..10

It is hard to imagine all the sufferings we humans brought on this earth. It is hard to imagine slavery when freedom is such dear treasure of my life. But if I think more, I find that slavery didn't disapeared, it just evolved in tune with the times. Unfortunately freedom can still be manipulated and slavery as well. Thank you dear Sylvie for this heart touching inspiring poem, loved it!
