Give And Take

Poem by Surayya Abbas

The habits to earn
Benefits from others
Evoke self-centeredness
And convert people
Into ignorant sculptures
With their recieving ends
Devoid of pleasures of life.

But, if unconditionally
One adopts
The ability to give,
Support and facilitate others
Without expecting rewards
Is bestowed with
Inner contentment.

I don't know whether this is a good thing or a bad one but this poem kinda sounds essayish; D But I agree with your way of thinking though, giving is definitely something which should be enjoyed and not sulked over ;)(Report)Reply

I believe that you are a wise philosopher of some kind bestowing wisdom on
those who read your words. This makes your words of more value than those
of other poets and writers. I really love your presentations. You state an affliction
and give guidance to a solution. Wonderful!
