Elisabeth Anne Wingle

Gone - Poem by Elisabeth Anne Wingle

I will not scream
I will not cry
I feel sick
I think I'll die
Now he's left,
He's gone for good
Is that bad?
Or as it should?
Anyway
I must go on
Must remember
He is gone
Gone

Topic(s) of this poem: break up, loneliness, love, love lost

Wow sums up what I went through in April. Though I learned the bad thing was in fact kind of good for something. Nicely written, touching and to the point :) (Report) Reply

Ok I'll try it again.. I am pretty sure we never married. There are a handfull of nights in my youth that are a little fuzzy....... You didn't spend any time in Cleveland in the early 80s?

Hi. I just read your poem. It's about a loss. My condolences.
We humans are not immortals. We live and die... But what remains of us is the memories for the others. And the legacies of the poets is their works. Thanks for sharing. Good Luck

It's always difficult to cope up when someone just packs up and leaves.. Making peace with that sudden exposure to loneliness is always difficult.. A well penned poem Elisabeth.. (Report) Reply
