Gratitude Poem by Norah Tunney

Gratitude

Rating: 5.0

I arose at dawn
with tears of joy
on my face,
I have one more day
In this beautiful place,
one more day
to say
Thank You,
imagine that?
I bow down
in speechless gratitude
for another moment
of loving,
another moment
to come home
to each simple little breath,
another moment to pause
and wonder.
I have no religion
and I do not know
any other way to pray
than to say
thank you,
thank you,
thank you.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Much of the year I live in the Sangre de Christo mountain range. Every morning as I gaze at these magnificent snow capped peaks (1400 ft) I feel so grateful.
