Hallelujah! Poem by Deluke Muwanigwa

Hallelujah!

Rating: 5.0

Hallelujah!

She came from the east
A hungry beast
Everything in its way bowed, fell, died
Special foundations, to be special, tried
Buffeted once from the east
Anything still standing she would return stronger, longer, for the feast
Buildings
Bridges
Multi storey
Same story

I built my hope upon a rock
My faith upon the Lord
They denied me space
My race
My face
Out of place
This was my saving grace
My ace
My home never torn
In a perfect storm.

Hallelujah!
