In so many instances,
Halloween was the darkhorse
With a part in my youth -
Lending versatility.
Creating 'memories.'
Mem'ries of a lifetime
On the old-familiar turf
Of Love and unity.
Witches, ghosts and goblins
Lead us kids to the dark side.
But we'd transcend the challenge,
To emerge the brighter side.
But there were activities
More on the lighter side,
Such as Tug of War.'
And that of 'Seek and Hiide.'
Attending football games.
And baseball games too.
Fun… dancing in the streets
To the tune of 'Skip to My Lou.'
The adventures of youth
Embraced the most unlikely.
But it all was made fun
In innocence quite likely.
