Hank Beuning Acrostic

Rating: 5.0

He's known as Darwin Henry on this site,
Although he's Hank to me and always was.
Nobody tries as hard to do things right;
Knows how to stand behind a worthy cause.

Bareheaded is his normal state of dress;
Excels at helping all his many friends.
Unparalleled is his great love of chess.
Never neglects to try to make amends
If he thinks something that he's done was wrong.
Never falters, always his chores attends.
Got to agree, he really does belong.

That's my cowboy hat there on the bench. In all the years I've known him, I can't remember ever seeing Hank wearing a hat!

Now, almost three years later, Hank has lost 90 pounds and most of his hair, and now wears a baseball cap to keep his head warm. Removal of 80% of his stomach due to cancer, and later chemotherapy are to blame for the weight loss and the hair loss.
