Heard To Re-Hear It Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Heard To Re-Hear It

Some with assuming minds misunderstand,
Their involvement when in conversation.
Await they do to interrupt but not listen.
Refusing to digest comprehension.
Perceiving their contribution is to provide,
Unlimited rude to refute participation.
In the hope that this,
Is reasonable to exchange.
In a thoughtless battle for attention to get.
And disappointment for them begins to arrive.
With pre-meditated accusations.
Picked and selected,
For a nonsensical argument to start.
Yet,
That too does not happen.
Since the re-occurrence of this done,
Is expected to come from one like this.
And boring it gets to sit through it.

After time has passed,
One re-hears with ears to be reminded.
From someone else refusing,
To sit and listen to judgements passed.
Done to stop their involvement.
Done to recognize immaturity.
And an adult who refuses to be one.
But appears to have known and accept,
The definition and its process.
