Hello Mr. - Poem by Donna Nimmo

Hello Mr. I don't know your name
Pain is my past, but you're not to blame
My heart, I have built a wall around
No more hurt for me, I stand my ground
I'm afraid to get to know you much
It was so hard to get free, from his clutch
He kept me in terror and fear many years
There was never any happiness, only tears
It's so hard for me to ever trust again
All I can do for now, is be your friend!

So many must have felt this way, but we must at least try our best to move on, and trust in a brighter future of better things to come
