नून है, तेल है, न लकड़ी है (Hindi)
नून है, तेल है, न लकड़ी है
डोर फिर भी जहां की पकड़ी है
ज़िन्दगी के अजीब कर्ज़ों में
आज भी साँस साँस जकड़ी है
इतने जंजाल में जो बैठा है
आदमी है या कोई मकड़ी है
इक जगह पे रुक नहीं पाता
फ़ितरतन वो बड़ा घुमक्कड़ी है
इसपे सूखा असर नहीं करता
खेजड़ी भी कहीं पे उजड़ी है
रिश्ते उनसे निभाना सीखेंगे
जिनकी तारीफ़ इतनी तगड़ी है

It just occurred to me... this controversy on poet Faize... about his poem hum dekhenge... I don't think Faize would mean something ill on Hinduism. You might perhaps throw light on this with his complete poem and translation, I think you are the right person..
(4) जाने-माने गीतकार गुलज़ार ने कहा, 'फ़ैज़ प्रगतिशील लेखन के फाउंडर थे, उस क़द के आदमी को धार्मिक मामलों से जोड़ना मुनासिब नहीं है. फ़ैज़ को पूरी दुनिया जानती थी. ज़िया उल हक के ज़माने में लिखी नज़्म को आप बिना संदर्भ के पेश कर रहे हैं. जो भी तब लिखा गया था, उसे उसके संदर्भ में देखने की ज़रूरत है.'
(3) यह एक तानाशाह को चुनौती देती हुई आम जनता की आवाज़ है जो ‘अनल हक़’ या ‘अहम् ब्रह्मास्मि’ या ब्रह्म (ईश्वर) का ही एक प्रतिबिम्ब है.
(2) 1977 में आर्मी जनरल जिया उल हक ने भुट्टो सरकार का तख्तापलट किया तो फैज ने इसका मुखर विरोध किया। उन्होंने 1979 में जिया उल हक के सैनिक शासन के विरोध में यह नज्म ‘हम देखेंगे’ लिखी थी। हकीकत तो यह थी कि फैज की क्रांतिकारी नज्मों और कविताओं से जिया को डर लगने लगा था। उसने फैज की नज्मों पर पाबंदी लगा रखी थी. इसमें एक जगह अल्लाह शब्द आया है जो उस सन्दर्भ में देखने लायक है जिसमें इस नज़्म की रचना की गई थी.
