The End Of Universe - Poem by Rajnish Manga

The End of Universe

The news
Must have reached your door steps
I have also come to know that
The universe is now expanding
At a rate slower than it was about
Three billion years ago.
Scientists have calculated that
At this rate the universe will survive
Another one billion years at the most.
Five Ws are pondering over the related issues.
Till the time a palpable solution to the riddle
Is available to us
Come, let us enjoy life to the fullest
Eat, Drink and Be Merry
Aboard a time machine,
‘Live and let live' should serve as
The cryogenic fuel
During our long voyage.

Rajnish, I was looking for an English poem of yours to read, since you often kindly read mine and make thoughtful comments. I smile when I hear reports like this one about the universe's expansion slowing down, or the sun becoming a red giant, etc. First of all, our human knowledge is so limited and our estimations are so often wrong. Secondly, I imagine a person sitting spinning a wheel of an upside down bicycle. When it starts slowing down, he just gives it another boost with a flick of his finger. In my view, the unimaginable power of the One behind the universe and all creation, can effortlessly supply energy to where it is needed. What is more urgent for us humans to think about is whether we are tuned in with the Creator's thinking and principles, for with him is the source of life, even life eternal. Or the opposite. One billion years is still a very long time. Not too pessimistic, no false optimism either.
One line reminds me of 'The Rubaiyat'- 'Come, let us enjoy life to the fullest/
    Eat, Drink and be Merry'.

The end of the universe is the same as its begining unknown. Our universe is our mind that is also unknown. +++10

    drink is a topic.

was the poet drinking beer as he composed the poem, biding his time till the end? ?

i won't lose much sleep 'over' the predictions! at least the mortgage payments should be
    ended by then as well.
