In such great heat wave
Paul and John sweating
With such excitement

First day of rivalry
And mutual respect
Quarrymen Skiffle Group
Play church garden party

Paul watches transfixed
As John charms the crowd
Then Paul takes over
And impresses John

Two weeks later
Paul's guitar for hire
He joins the band
Best in the land
