Honestly, Your Throat (Not What You Think) Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Honestly, Your Throat (Not What You Think)

Can I marry your voice?
No matter
if I've already married to your lips,
The strength and courage that it inspires,
No matter if I am early or late?

Can I choreograph my breath to it?
The sound of your voice.
Me, you, & the wind in holy matrimony?
The mystery of exploration,
The hesitance of a slow yes or a... low yes.
The true essence of inner beauty
Unadulterated & free.

Profound & free.
Shaken of all worry, all doubt.
In my heart I have married you tenfold.
In my head I am lip syncing
to the inspiration
you've given.
"Don't stop, keep going"
