Huge Poem by Glen Kappy

Huge

Luke 5: 4-8

That huge haul
that boat-load of fish—
in itself—as a sum—
an enormity!

But then each one—
a silver tongue—
telling God's goodness
and mercy!

Under blessing such as this
my timbers groan.

How great is our God. Glen, Isn't he the Greatest Teacher... all through the gospel he gives us theses beautiful examples of humanity and his love for us flaws and all. Huge is one of my favorite now. Thank you.

you're welcome. and thank you for finding this poem, reading it, and commenting on it. years ago i read something which placed this scene with peter alongside isaiah's vision of God—and other heart-in-the-mouth totally humbling encounters with the Living One. yes, great to the skies and beyond! -glen

Beautiful word pictures, Glen. Silver tongues - now that is original. You mean your timbers are your legs groaning under the weight of blessings? How fresh a thought is that?
