Hunger To The power Infinity behind disproportionate assets. Poem by Nabakishore Dash

Hunger To The power Infinity behind disproportionate assets.

Rating: 5.0

When I was born, I cried and
others rejoiced,
my crying was limited to the hunger
in my tummy till my
mother fed me with her breast milk.

With her loving caress and milk
my entire infancy passed by
with full satisfaction and happiness.
Gradually I used to relish
tastes of different foods, vegetables and grains.

With increasing age,
my hunger has become unlimited.
I have eaten so much,
variety of animals, plants, metals in
land, water and sky of the earth,
now searching for other planets.

Early Neanderthal man
was moving, hunting and eating even raw uncooked meat as use of fire was not known.
Hunger was confined to his stomach,
now hunger means
hunger of power,
Property, sex, regalia,
so much so that it never gets satisfaction.

Hunger has infected the
entire body, mind and soul,
I go on amassing wealth,
no ceiling,
by any means,
honest or dishonest,
even though Govt. conducts raids
to unearth disproportionate assets.

Enforcement directorate,
Central Bureau of Investigation,
Research and analysis wing,
Income tax, crime branches in states
conduct raids every day.
Many have lost their jobs,
many are behind bars,
but every day people are engaged
in earning assets by hook or by crook,
sans being afraid to be booked,
what an alarming dismay.

Hunger for power and material things if unchecked is a sin. Greediness can harm and damage humanity. A well crafted and expressed poem.
