I Always Find Myself Alone - Poem by Bernard F. Asuncion

Deep in the night,
As everyone falls asleep;
I find myself awake and alone
With a perfect promise to keep.

I keep on thinking
Of the words so comforting;
As I find myself alone
With a pen to do the writing.

In broad daylight,
As the sun shines so bright;
Yes, I find myself alone,
Seeking sentences to write.

After searching for the love,
For the rest of my life;
I still find myself alone
With my one and only wife.

Yes, no man is an island,
Sitting in the silent sea;
But the island is beautiful
For all the people to see.

Between lasting peace
And serenity that I've known;
I'll stand gladly without fear,
I'll always find myself alone.

    With a realistic spiritual base the poem explores the avenues when human realizes that he is alone in spite of so many relations and connections. This state he can enjoy if tranquility resides in his mind and he is satisfied with life. A great truth explored by the muse. Thanks for sharing.10 points. (Report) Reply
