I Hope So... Poem by Annette Aitken

I Hope So...

Rating: 5.0

I Hope So...

Life,
is our only true possession.
Can I just ignore everything
I was brought up to know what was right?
Is anyone ever truly in charge
of their destiny?

As,
I float in the pool of my own despair,
all cried out, my eyes as arid
as the Sahara,
as the flow of my tears cease.

As,
memories are a reminder
of what has passed.
Can they defrost a heart so cold,
unemotional, uncaring, void of feelings.

When uncertainty can plague the mind.

I hope so.

I hope so too. Your natural warmth will see you through the winter of despair.

Really well worded poem, sometimes hope is in very short supply

Awesome! ! Yeah, there are so many questions about the mystery of this life. Like, if we make our own destiny or we are already given with our births. You make me think with this poem.10+++

Great presentation of the philosophy of life through various moods and emotions. Thanks. Can they defrost a heart so cold, unemotional, uncaring, void of feelings.
