I Wish - Poem by tiana thomas
I wish I was Tiana,
the girl who wants to be saved,
but afraid that if she gets saved,
her fun will be taken away.
I wish I was Shene',
the girl I never knew,
the girl who never has cloudy days,
her skies are always blue.
I wish that you would listen,
but all you do is talk.
You sit around and judge me
about things that you ain't bought.
I wish that you could look and see
the young woman inside of me,
trying to do all that she can do
but constantly being stereotyped by who; you.
I wish that I could reach the stars,
touch the moon, the planet Mars.
I wish that you all could see
that all I'm doing is trying to be me.
