Idiosyncrasies Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Idiosyncrasies

This may come as a surprise,
But I miss you,
The tender essence of your hand gracing mine
in laughter.
The constant nitpicking you would do if I chewed too loudly.
The motions your eyebrows would make.
Staring in silence.
As if I wouldn't catch on. Watching you out of the corner of my eyes.
Waiting for a burst of laughter.
The cute way you'd eat one french fry at a time,
Making sure you had enough fries to finish your burger.
Accompanied by small sips of your Hi-C no ice.
The tantrum that followed if by chance the lady at the counter
forgot that you requested no ice.
I miss the moments spent in silence sharing the same breath.
Sitting with you, watching your favorite movies as I took glances watching
my favorite movie, watch her  favorite movie.
The deep sighs taken from you if I talked too much
Trying to lengthen the time spent in your company.
Knowing you had to go but held on to every moment I could.
I can't help by laugh now thinking about it.
I hunger for days now passed.
The moments we were still young in each others eyes.
The way you'd comb through your hair slightly turning your head to each side.
Always careful not to miss a single strand.
Surely you miss me as much as I miss you.
A picturesque of perfection
The color of your tan light caramel skin.
French vanilla mixed in the depth of the sun hiding behind the horizon.
A Constitution signed by the treaty of stars as your smile could replace the moon at night.
I remember the last time I saw it,
Although it wasn't long ago.
It Brightens up my day just thinking about it.
The idiosyncrasies that linger on in thought.
