If You Weren'T The Right Girl For Me - Poem by Ruben Lopez

If you weren't the right girl for me then how could you make me see
that spending forever next to you is where I wanna be?
that life has no meaning without someone who truly loves and cares
without the right girl to listen to you when you silently shed your tears

If you weren't the right girl for me then my frown wouldn't now be a smile
I wouldn't get the chills just imagining you walking down the aisle
I wouldn't be seeing life from a different perspective, cooking my kids a dish
counting down the days when we can take a trip just to go catch some fish

My heart wouldn't skip a beat at the sound of your sexy voice
telling me you love me and making me realize laughter its not just a noise
that is your soul finally expressing happiness and emotion
making me realize that my love for you is deeper than any ocean

If you weren't the right girl for me then I couldn't daydream
pain I feel when you say you're not the right girl for me wouldn't be so extreme
I love you with all my heart and soul but this time im going to have to disagree
cause deep down in your heart, baby you know you are the right girl for me
