In Dreams Poem by David Harris

In Dreams

In dreams we sail
across a mystery sea
where fog bound Island
await to capture thee.
We sail in a billowing cloud
as soft a downy feathers white.
Our emptying thoughts
dance around our head
as on the sea
we sail each night.

In dreams, we go
venturing from our world
to explore new avenues.
A jumble malaise
of our dancing thoughts
waiting to be filed away.
On our clouded skipper,
we visit foggy out posts
in an attempt to find
the forgotten journeys
we took in our youth.

In dreams, we get
as close to death
without experiencing it.
We lie in a state
of suspended animation,
a trance so deep
no outside sound is heard.
Just floating on a mystery sea
to wherever it may take thee.
