Inappropriate Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Inappropriate

'Excuse me?
Say WHAT? '

These times we live.
Seem to entice an inviting of the inappropriate.
Either in action or comments made.
And appears to have been accepted by everyone.

Even those with their noses up high.
And perceived to be way above the gutter.
Have left behind intelligence and ideals.
To stoop down with others in the mix.
With their manicured and moisturized hands.
Just to sling mud and verbalize from lips.
Words heard that embarrasses even sailors.
Wishing to refuse their weekend furloughs.
Wanting to get back onto their docked ships.

'What in the World is THIS nonsense? '

These times we live.
With folks risking their lives,
Just to survive on urban streets.
Have those elected in positions,
Of leadership.
Doing their best,
To have the bottom reached.
Although with capabilities to pull away.
From such childishness that has started.
Delighted they all seem to be,
To have everyone enjoy the darkness.
Before their minds become enlightened.
To realize their blinded eyes,
Could have opened wider to see...
Nothing that is in darkness,
Has the capabilities to cast a shadow.
