Ingrown Nail Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Ingrown Nail

Those most affected.
And connected emotionally.
Seem always the ones who give,
Themselves and time to others...
Done unselfishly.

Yet some seem just to live,
As professional whiners.
Complaining nonstop about their woes.
Regardless whatever happens goes.
Empathy and attention they want most.
No matter who is suffering.
Or dies,
From drug overdose.

Those most affected and connected,
Emotionally.
Are quick to rush to others,
In their hour of need.
And they are not,
The people announcing what they do.
In fact they are ones,
Refusing attention too!

But people selfish,
Think themselves above...
Anyone they can demean.
Or in public judge.

Ego selfish people,
Are quick to moan and woe...
Even if they have an ingrown nail,
On a toe.
Or if the wind should mess up,
Their hair when it blows.
