Inherited Traits Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Inherited Traits

Mind looking into pictures and portraits that have been
taken throughout the years, seeing ours and our children's
resemblances to Grandparents, parents, Aunts and Uncles.

Life is funny when you think of what we have inherited from
our relatives and watching them being passed on time and
again through generations of births in the future.

Future relatives being born - ones that we will never even
meet, it is sad if thinking about those pictures that will
be taken in the years to come without us.

All of them being, growing, maturing, aging, as time con-
tinues to move forward without us, because actually we are
not needed anymore once our beings are dead and gone.

Every generation will go through the same exact things as
we are now, taking these thoughts with us into the unknown,
being buried with each of us alone in the end.
