Inner Visions Poem by Laquory Jones

Inner Visions

Channeling my inner vision through my hopes and dreams
Will you give me a minute of your time
Mentally I like to think that I hold the key to the secret
Passageways of poetry lately people been hindering
My talent and all my creativity but I artistically
Can make a change throughout this century
I close my eyes while trying to transcend the art to
Greater heights all my fears that I swallow comes
In forms of desire so when the fire ignited
Something inside me internally tears flooded
In the forms of sorrow knowing that we live in a
World where we're not promised tomorrow and
This feeling makes me hallow as I see us as a nation
Heading straight for the gallows if only I could find a
Way to solve the world's problems using poems as a vehicle
For anyone that's willing to follow but my cup has
Spillage over with everything that I tend to bottle

While keeping my foot upon the throttle
Inside me lives a phoenix no one yet see my greatness
In forms of uniqueness my family doesn't
Believe that I have the potential so confidence is
Essential I've felt weak and defeated with all the
Energy I've already depleted my pain heavily seeded
But the grip of a pen gave me a way to obsolete it
There's not enough Manuals to teach this
Trying to garner any type of success while contemplating
The ways to achieve it Richie how far are you willing to go
When people behind the curtains are selling their souls
Year by year it only gets harder to reach it
I'm taking every moment to cease it
Because it only takes one person to believe
