It's been a while, poetry
It's been a while, my muse.
Will they still remember me?
Will they still read my words?
I have drifted away from
Writing the soul's speeches.
I became afraid to share,
Lest they be taken against
My future opinions
For they evolve too quickly.
I was also afraid
That they might stop reading
When I remove the rhythm
Of the verses I write
Because I want to be free-
Free to tell my story,
Free to express at liberty.
I am not a strict
Conservative anymore,
Though I could not remove
Some important traditions.
Now I am more open
I am more human
I am more of a poet
Who knows himself
And keeps knowing him
As his story goes
As his story is shared…
Freely

You should write which ever way pleases you. The important thing is to write. And you are! Great message for all writers and poets. Keep writing and sharing. Warm Wishes, Marilyn
