Jack The Man Of The Night... Poem by Patricia Gale

Jack The Man Of The Night...

Rating: 5.0

Say goodnight
And just go
Catch the midnight train
No one will be to blame

Endless dreams haunting these eyes that cry
Just say good bye
I will sing my song whilst I sit and drink
Drowning in a pool of make believe just watch me sink

Think of me as each glass I pour
The pain rises making my mind soar
Jack will be my love of the night
Till the morning light

Sweet and strong holding me helpless
And heartless
Once upon time, is no more
It all went as you walked out that door

Broken like a bottle in the middle of the road
Smashed like a dead toad
Swinging low
What a blow

Hang me high
For the buzzards cry
Leave me till the morning rise
Just close the door and say good bye

Now Jack wouldn't be going to 'Georgia' by any chance would he? Loved the imagery here. Good flow too. Love and hugs Ernestine XXX

Patricia, such a poignant, and yet bittersweet write. I love the poem, but if it is true, my heart and soul go out to you! Blessings, Theo
