Jack & Tim Poem by Mark Dillon

Jack & Tim

Rating: 5.0

Jack and Tim were boyhood friends
made the moves and kept up with the trends.
Up through the years, each had departed,
but when they returned, socialising re-started.

Through drink, girls, drugs and Rock&Roll
The years flew by and took their toll.
But their friendship stuck through thick and thin
even as their golden years stumbled in.

They still meet up in the pub for a pint.
Every now and again share a joint.
Buddies and rockers till the end,
their families now extended.
They wouldn't have it any other way.
Their frienship they defended.

Only in the death of either one,
is their friendship ended.

Glad to read that their habits didn't swallow them up and help them lose all that was good in their lives. Balance. But I think their friendship kept them strong.

Hey this is great Mark, love it how they met up again. Feel like it is waiting for a piece of music to really take off. Thanks

Such friendships as this rarely exist - people so often move on and lose touch. Great write.
