Just A short Story....this weekend
quite a year ago
I went to a convention in Rome
many many colleagues I have met,
one by one they say they are professors
I started to think:
am I the only lecturer?
almost everyone was a professor, decent men they were all
coming home from my convention
my dear husband
said to me, "Yes! "
please tell me about your conference week
certainly as much experience to "leak"
I told him there was a very nice colleague
certainly one decade younger than me
but she's already a professor!
it's a shame she doesn't speak english very well
and I can't tell her in Italian
but I invited her to come here
she immediately said yes to me
because she liked a real Dutch atmosphere
the Dutch cheese and cozy windmills
she heard that the Dutch could be so down to earth,
I picked her up from the airport
she was a professor, of course
I'll ask her which university she is affiliated with.
her visit was a certainly a great success
and I've learned a lesson
in Italy and France all teachers are called professors
therefore in my opinion
there were too many professors for one university,
so you see, never too old to learn
my dear husband only knew then,
when the visit from Bari came....

Very true in different country people use different titles which may or may not be at par with the degree or titles or positions. Nice one. I enjoyed your conversation with your Hubby and your new found friend. These little experiences enrich our knowledge and understanding.5****
" I went to a convention in Rome many many colleagues I have met, one by one they say they are professors.." ... Your nice visits you have memorized with greater beauty and responsibility. We have beautified the duty with our perception. Reading your poems of visits starting from Normandy to Rome, you have nicely penned your travel poems, we feel happy! ..5 stars!
A professor like Dillip Swain who doesn't know the difference between superlatives and philosophy.
