Just because
I've been writing all morning...
the jam is soft jewels
[Note: I thought about using creative spelling, because I want to savor the word 'jewels' in my mouth by spelling it 'jooels' or 'jools.' To be honest I didn't write this. It stuck in my mind after I heard it on the answering machine of a Seattle poet over twenty ago. I am posting it on my page because at least my memory was creative enough to preserve it all this time. I don't know if Lance Loder intended it to be a haiku or not. Maybe it was a line from a longer poem. I wish I could take a suitable photo of apricot-fig jam or grape jam, preferably suffused with sunlight. It would take a master photographer.]
